Notes on the release:
At the end of 2010, I released Pearls as a CD edition. The response was more than I'd imagined. I was flooded with warm and enthusiastic emails from listeners and artists. It was one of those moments where everything you strive for as an artist, to create a work with integrity and meaning, had happened. It seemed the album really meant something to people and it certainly meant something to me.
I've had a lot of requests over the years to release Pearls as a vinyl edition. Now that enough time has passed, we're doing just that. We had the LP jackets made by the same talented craftspeople at Stumptown Printers to honor the original CD packaging. The first 100 copies are pressed on white vinyl (to represent a single white dot from the cover) and the remaining 400 are pressed on black wax.
The album has new life on vinyl. It sounds different, richer, and it floats more. The patience in the music is more forward, almost as if its been waiiting to exist on vinyl all along and has found comfort in its new home.
Album Review Excerpts:
"Pearls is a masterful piece of music ... Leaves me breathless."
-The Steinberg Principle, Euan McMeeken
"Pearls seems an apt title for an album so perfect that it has become a sort of artistic engineering achievement ... If you are after perfectly crafted experimental music, look no further."
-Was Ist Das
"Settles the heart and mind ... stays true to an observation of nature, weaving a layered surrounding environment."
"It will add a delightful tint to your environment, wherever you are."
-The Liminal, Scott McMillan
